BBSEA National Workshop in Ukraine Supports Marine Policy and Monitoring

Ukraine has reached an important milestone in its work under the Blueing the Black Sea Project to strengthen marine environmental governance and monitoring.

On 23 July 2026, a national workshop brought together government representatives, experts and scientific institutions to review proposed updates to Ukraine’s National Marine Environmental Strategy and discuss priorities for stronger marine monitoring, pollution assessment and alignment with EU environmental legislation.

The workshop was followed by technical visits to environmental laboratories in Odesa, providing practical insights into existing monitoring capacities and future needs.
