Georgia

Building the foundation for stronger wastewater governance

In Georgia, the project has focused on strengthening the country's policy framework for wastewater management. Working closely with government counterparts, the team completed a comprehensive assessment of national legislation against the revised EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive and identified priority legal reforms needed to support future implementation.

Alongside the legal review, experts developed a methodology to identify wastewater pollution hotspots and are now preparing a national Wastewater Management Concept, implementation roadmap and investment recommendations.

National Workshop

Coming soon

The national workshop will bring together ministries, technical experts and key stakeholders to validate the proposed legal reforms, discuss priority pollution hotspots and agree on the investment recommendations that will form Georgia's final national roadmap.
